This week marks the 2 year anniversary of the launch of GoodGirlGoneFab. I was reluctant to make any posts about this honestly. I am very sensitive with my blog and brand but I think this deserves to be celebrated…
My journey with GoodGirlGoneFab was one I sought after being secluded from the fashion and editorial industry. My entire summer before launching my blog, I interned in NYC with Nneya Richards, travel blogger and stylist. It was a great experience that taught me 1. I want to create my own blog. 2. I don’t like nor did I fit in with the fashion industry. But I did know I had a great message and loved makeup so why not create something of my own?
Looking back on that summer, I wish that I had chose another path but here I am two years later happy with my blog and hopeful. I often want to give up and I sometimes feel a lot pressure because it’s been two years and I’m not “where I want to be.”
But then I sit here and type this message in almost tears because GoodGirlGoneFab has evolved so much in two years. I do everything myself with minimal resources and I still make a way to put out some of the best content that I can. I am stronger. Smarter. Wiser. And I transformed GoodGirlGoneFab into a mini brand that connects with women of all backgrounds.
(Watch the slideshow below to see my transformation!)
It took me two years to be consistent and that’s my own fault. But now that I have the ball rolling I’m so proud of my little beauty blog because my voice matters, inspires and influences. I have my own platform to educate and connect with you all and it means the world. I truly get emotional when people ask me for blog, makeup and social media advice. Thank you for believing in me and GGGF.
GoodGirlGoneFab is the most rewarding experience of my adulthood so far and I know that two years from now it’ll be something even more to be proud of. <3
