Typically when you hear of a long-wearing foundation, it’s a matte formula that doesn’t necessarily work for every skin type. And as much as I long my Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation, it was apparent that that semi-matte formula may be too much for those with dry skin. Luckily, there are so many other great foundations that aren’t matte but will still give you full days wear.
A new foundation on the market is the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation ($49), promising to give a 16-hour wear with a natural glow. NARS is no stranger to an expansive shade range and this new foundation is available in 33, skin matching shades. It’s also a medium-to-full coverage foundation. The best thing about this foundation? It’s made with ALL skin types in mind. Since it’s not matte, it won’t dry out already dry skin. And for us with oily skin, the formula is still strong enough to endure the t-zone.
But sis, this is a $50 foundation…Tell me why it’s really worth it!
I know how important it is to spend our money wisely so I’m gonna give you the pros of this foundation and why I think it’s worth the splurge.
- It really does last. While I haven’t worn this foundation without a primer (oily skin forbids that), the actual staying power of the foundation is quite impressive. I wore it from 10:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m., and it really didn’t budge. It’s an oil-free product! My face was beautiful and stayed in place all day. I did have to blot, but with my skin type, I blot regardless of the foundation and I had minimal creasing around my smile lines.
- You don’t need a lot to get a flawless coverage. You’re spending $50 and you’ll probably be set on a foundation for a longggg time. The times that I have worn this foundation, I used no more than 2.5 pumps to get a fully covered face. Of course, this depends on the type of coverage you need. But even still, you can for sure have enough products to last 4+ months (and that is if you use it a lot). I will say it won’t be a dramatic beat, but it will be a beautiful natural full face perfect for everyday wear.
- Radiance for all. This formula is infused with raspberry, apple, and watermelon extracts. Fancy af. But the intention is to help support skin’s elasticity to smooth and improve skin’s appearance over time and provide radiance. I actually felt and looked radiant and not flat with this foundation. It’s the first formula I have tried that lasts, while still giving me a glow.
- Easy to blend. Some foundations can be hard to blend when they provide a longwear claim. It’s because of the mattifying properties. But since this foundation stays all day without the matte, it’s blending capabilities are impressive. If you’re a beauty blender user, like me, this will be especially easy to blend creating the perfect flawless finish.
Bonus: Buying it from Sephora, you have 60 days to return it if you truly don’t like it! And course, you can always get a sample in store before the splurge. Also, I’ve never tried the Sheer Glow from NARS so I can’t compare the two.
