(Say the title 10 times fast, lol)
I’ve been blessed to attend the Blogger Bootcamp hosted by Bria Larine and Charlie G, Detroit bloggers who have mastered full time blogging/vlogging. On Sunday, December 10th, fellow Michigan-based bloggers sat and learned the ins & outs of getting our brands/blogs off of the ground and learning the best ways to create great content that’ll excite readers/viewers. Detroit Bloggers meeting together to learn from experts who were once in our position…it was an amazing experience.
The event started with great food and mimosas, which is always a perfect way to kick off any day. After mingling with the other attendees and grabbing a seat in the front, Bria and Charlie began the event by thanking us for attending and introduced themselves to everyone. Bria is a full-time model and YouTube vlogger, who specializes in natural hair care. Charlie is also a full-time blogger, who focuses on style and tips for other bloggers. They both have grown their following organically, creating high quality content and engaging with their audience.
The main thing I gained from attending the event was to be consistent with my content but still focus on the quality. Working two jobs can be overwhelming but from seeing Bria and Charlie work their previous jobs and then transition to full-time blogging, it put my goal into perspective.
Microblogging is probably the key component to keeping your followers engaged while still posting to a blog or YouTube channel. Before this event, I had already planned to revamp my Instagram but from this event, I learned of so many apps and ways to make my IG as popping as possible! Bria and Charlie also taught the do’s and don’ts of microblogging and insider tips they use to finesse, making their pages grow exponentially but still organically!
The most exciting part of the event was when they taught us tips on how to get paid from our blogs and becoming influencers. This is the hardest part in how to become a full-time blogger but it was encouraging to hear how realistic this goal can be.
In addition to all of the great tips, we also received a workbook to plan our blogging goals and a free goodie bag from Bumble! We also plan that everyone from the event will be meeting soon to plan a time to get Instagram feedback on how to create better pages.
We also got great gifts from Bumble from the event, which are pictured in the featured photo!
Both women are inspiring and super down to Earth, which made the event well worth the money spent! After this event, I am more motivated to reach out to brands, provide even better content for my readers, make myself a media-kit and finally gain the confidence that my blogging dream is near, soon!

That is pretty awesome!!! I would love for something like that to be here in Columbus!
They’re planning on having more around the country and/or digital form!
