Fenty Skin is Rihanna’s new skincare line, an extension of Fenty Beauty, aimed to all skin types, skin tines and all genders. It is designed to be simplistic. Just like with anything Rihanna touches, I was incredibly excited to get my hands on her new products from the line and ordered them as soon as the early release was available. My skincare routine before using Rihanna’s 3-step system was about 6/7 products that I would use twice a day to keep my skin clean and healthy.
Now with the launch of Fenty Skin, I can say that my skincare routine has been cut in half, making it simple and easy for beginners. I am for sure a beginner to skincare who has been blessed with minimal skincare concerns. I typically am happy with my skin and not looking for too many things to change. I have normal / oily skin, really getting oily in my T-Zone. My main skincare concerns: dark spots, dullness and hydration. Even though my skin is “oily”, the skin is typically overproducing oil because it’s thirsty. And no one wants thirsty skin, sis.
The three current products in her line are a cleanser, toner/serum and moisturizer/sunscreen. All of the products have dual uses, making sure you’re not skipping any steps even though there’s less products. As far as fragrance: all 3 products have a light Barbados cherry scent that is noticeable but not overbearing. I have had no skin reactions so far.
TOTAL CLEANS’R REMOVE-IT-ALL CLEANSER ($25): After a long day of slaying in my makeup, I love a cleanser that can take off my makeup AND cleanse the skin. This product does that! It’s easily my favorite of the three products in the line so far, leaving my skin super clean but it doesn’t ever make my skin feel dry or stripped. I haven’t had to use makeup wipes since using this cleanser.
FAT WATER PORE-REFINING TONER SERUM ($28): Rih’s Fat Water Toner Serum is designed to refine the look of pores instantly. Now this is tricky because I don’t think I have large pores so I can’t say if it’s done that. But what I can say is that this product does help my skin feel hydrated yet reduces any shine I had after cleansing. Over time this product is intended to reduce the look of dark spots so I am hoping in the new few months it does that. For now, it’s a cool step in the routine. It’s a product that you’ll see if it works over time.
HYDRA VIZOR INVISIBLE MOISTURIZER BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 30 SUNSCREEN ($35): If you were concerned with the fragrance in the Fenty Skin line, this product will have strongest scent. I don’t find it overwhelming anymore but it did make my eyes uncomfortable the first time I used it. From there, avoiding any contact with my eyes has been key. But this product is moisturizing! My skin is ultra radiant after using and the SPF melts into my skin like butter. I love how much radiance I have after using without any white shadows or cast. You can purchase a refillable cartridge for $30 once this is finished!
Final Thoughts: If I had to rank each of products I would say 1: Cleanser, 2: Moisturizer/Sunscreen and 3: Toner Serum. They all work incredibly well together and it works for my skin type so I am happy. Most of the Fenty Beauty products have been great on my skin so I love the products Rihanna’s produces.
If I had to vote for what I want to see next from Fenty Skin: face masks and tools. Be sure to also check out my demo of all 3 products with my fiancé on my Instagram page!
