Bye, bye light hair. Two years ago I got blonde and light brown highlights. I thought I was super cute and I wanted to look 21 years old, since I was turning 21 years old… It kind of worked but I have a young face so it worked to make me look maybe 17 instead of 15. Either way, I loved the look of my freshly cut bob and highlights. It made me stand out from my friends and I received so many compliments on it. *fab emoji*
But recently, I’ve grown tired of light hair. Most of the highlights have grown out and in the past few months, I’ve just let it grow not knowing what I wanted to do next. The only thing I knew is that I wanted to keep my hair short. It wasn’t until a few weeks ago, I texted my best friend pictures of jet black bob haircuts and made the decision that I was dyeing my hair black.
Even before my highlighted my hair, my hair was dark brown ish. Not quite black.
So this week I took a leap of faith and texted my hairdresser and told her my plans and before I knew it, I was in the chair with a shower cap on letting the color set in my hair. I’ve been going to Pola’s Hair Studio for about seven years now. She’s been my mom’s hair stylist for over 20 years, and she has a large clientele of professional women. She specializes in all realms of cosmetology including natural hair, relaxed hair, weave, makeup application, eyebrow waxing, manicures, and more. She’s an expert at what she does and she’s one of the only people I’ll ever trust to color or cut my hair. She obviously does an amazing job.
So 2016 is the year of dark hair. I’m so in love with the richness of the color and my hair looks healthier and it’s so bouncy. Deep black hair is sexy and sophisticated; which are two things I aim to embody. But most importantly, my hair is fab.
