One fun, but tedious part of starting this blog was conducting a mini photo shoot with my boyfriend. I needed photos for my About page, blog promo and and I wanted to do style shots of my look for this. So I played model for the day while my boyfriend took photos with my Nikon D3200. Im still a beginner in photography so teaching him the basics seemed as if it would be hard but the day was a lot of fun and pretty easy. I got a lot of great shots and I must say, I love my look in these pictures!
My favorite part of this shoot was getting to do a full face of makeup and a full outfit. These days, I don’t get to go out as much. So getting full glam was exciting. On my face I used:
- Sephora Collection Perfecting Ultra-Smoothing Primer
- MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation, color 7.5
- NYX Eyebrow Gel, color Espresso
- LA Pro Girl Concealer, color Warm Honey
- MAC Lip Liner, color Chestnut
- MAC Retro Matte Lipstick, Ruby Woo
- MAC Pro Longwear Pressed Powder, Dark
- Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control
Setting Spray
My outfit for this mini shoot included some of my favorite pieces in my closet. Everything is affordable and easy to find or replicate. I do a lot of my shopping at H&M, even before I started working there. They have a lot of great pieces that can be styled in many ways. Nevertheless, this outfit was inspired by the upcoming fall weather.
However, I shot this before the end of summer, so it was still warm outside. Haha. I knew that when I got a chance to release the blog, it would be nearing fall so I planned for that. These pieces can be found at:
- White button down shirt, Target
Light wash high-waisted jeans, H&M - Tan butterfly cardigan, Forever 21
- Michael Kors brown Jet Set Tote, Macy’s (Gift)
- Brown high heeled sandals, DSW
- Chucky pearled necklace w/ gold accents, Forever 21
- Gold ball earrings, Forever 21
I loved this part of my blog production so much that I’m planning to do a weekly mini photo shoot and feature either beauty looks or outfits.
So stay tuned for it. More updates to come.
