Review: NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer

One of the more important steps in the makeup application process is highlighting the under eye with concealer. After applying foundation over your entire face, you can lose the lights and shadows your natural face has. But highlighting not only can add dimension but reduce eye darkness and circles. This is one my skin care concerns but makeup helps hide the day-to-day darkness.

So I’ve been searching for a concealer that can do it ALL. Highlight. Conceal. Correct. Stay in place. Not Crease. Stay Matte. That’s a lot to ask of one product but I’ve been blessed to find the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. 

NARS already has their cult favorite, Radiant Creamy Concealer. It’s a favorite from many of our favorite YouTubers and Influencers and comes in 16 shades. So a matte soft focus version only could be just as loved — especially for a girl like me who has fine lines and gets oily.

The new Soft Matte Complete Concealer comes in the same 16 shades as it’s sister product and it’s the same price, $30. But is in a jar which has 0.21 oz of product. The jar compacts the product so I found it best to use a concealer brush like my Mikasa E220 brush to apply the product to my face. I bought the shade “Amande,” which is a Medium dark shade with golden olive undertones.

Here’s How It Works For Me:

Once I apply the concealer (on top on my foundation) to my desired areas (under eye, bridge of nose, and forehead), I use my damp Beauty Blender to blend out the product. It applies so smoothly and blending is even easier.

I then set and bake my concealer with my Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. Wipe away excess product and then bam!

I promise this is the best concealer I’ve ever used. It doesn’t settle into my skin, it’s VERY easy to blend and it covers all of the little imperfections. I’ve even found myself using my fingers to blend the concealer–which works great! I think the most amazing part on the concealer is that it HIGH coverage but it still looks effortlessly natural. I don’t feel cakey and over done but my makeup looks so well put together now. Even with this product being matte, it’s non drying to the skin and feels creamy.
