I’ll start by saying…I’ve never loved a foundation as much as I’ve loved my Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation in 500 Suede W. I’ve bought it 3-4 times since I’ve first tried it in December 2015. Of course in between that I’ve tried and used other products, both high end and dug store brand. But it’s always been hard for me to fall in love with a new foundation.
I’ve tried popular full coverage products such as Kat Von D’s Lock It Foundation, Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation and MAYBELLINE Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation.
I really enjoy them all but I’m in love NOW with the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation in Cappuccino. If you’re not sure what shade to choose, the best way would be to try the Total Control Drop Foundation Shade Finder on the NYX site! It gives you shade ranges and examples of the colors in their lineup. This foundation has 24 shades so there’s a shade for everyone on the first release…not the second or third *shade.*
Nevertheless. I love this foundation so much that I reach for it over my Lacôme for my everyday looks. The NYX Total Control Drop Foundation is a lightweight liquid and has a velvet matte finish that is non drying to the skin. I will admit that it is a watery formula but once you get over the fact that it can be a bit messy and start to blend the product, it’s worth it. NYX suggests adding more drops with the dropper applicator to the face for more coverage. Simple idea.
So I use my damp Beauty Blender to blend out the foundation around my face, neck and hairline. The first time I used the foundation I didn’t us
e any primer because I wanted to see how the foundation lasted. It held up fine through the day but it also settled into my fine lines. So of course, I would recommend a primer for your oily areas or place that tend to ware the fastest.
I wanted to review this product after the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer because they work together beautifully for me. I think these two products together have some of the best makeup looks I’ve ever had. The foundation lasts all day, I don’t feel cakey but my face is covered as much or as little as I need it for the day.
So YESSSSS. Go buy this foundation! It’s so affordable. It’s easily blendable. It’s gorgeous on the skin. It’s high quality. The list goes on.
